The Social Media Marketing Manager is a dynamic, highly visible role for someone with the passion to build a winning content and social media strategy for our B2B brand that will bolster the organization’s brand reputation as well as drive customer engagement, acquisition, retention and cross-selling. The role calls for a talented storyteller who is well versed in creating compelling “socialized” content to deliver upon marketing and communications goals. The Social Media Marketing Manager is accomplished in developing and executing organic and inorganic social media strategies to create effective reach and engagement with key target audiences. Social media is key to the growth of our business, and vision and creative thinking are crucial to this role.


  • Develop and implement a cross-social media content marketing strategy that translates customer insights and business and marketing/communications goals into meaningful deliverables in order to advance followers, reach and engagement.
  • Produce and publish content across channels and formats (Facebook posts, LinkedIn updates, Tweets, etc.).
  • Manage resources to produce outstanding content within allotted budget.
  • Ensure optimization of content for search engines, sharing and distribution.
  • Establish and manage work flow for creating, reviewing, scheduling, publishing and retiring content.
  • Drive customer engagement through the development and execution of a social media strategy, enhancing existing channels (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube profiles) and by making recommendations for new channels.
  • Identify key social media influencers and leverage these stakeholders to increase social content activation.
  • Develop and execute training for sales staff to optimize social media presence and represent consistent brand messaging.
  • Assist with the development and execution of the company’s SEO plan to increase organic search rankings
  • Provide consultation on appropriate social media linkage with key digital properties.
  • Utilize engaging content and social media to increase inbound links and maximize site quality score.
  • Work with marketing and communications team to enhance connections to key digital properties to optimize website architecture, page titles, meta tags, urls, etc.
  • Oversee a social media response team and develop regular updates for the team to enhance customer experience with our brand online. Act as subject matter expert for B2B inquiries that come in through brand specific and corporate social media channels.
  • Work collaboratively with the public relations and marketing communications teams to integrate social media into all major brand campaign and events.
  • Monitor, collect and report analytics for social media channels on a regular basis in order to maximize efficacy.


  • Minimum 3-5 years of digital/social media experience and management of a variety of social media channels for a large brand, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, etc.
  • Bachelors in Marketing or Communications or related degree.
  • Proven track record of success in driving content strategy across channels, including social media.
  • Exceptional writing skills, the ability to visualize a story and create compelling content, and the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of a business.
  • Knowledge of inbound marketing, public relations, and SEO best practices.
  • A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves individual who can take control of the full social media content creation, review and publishing process, with proven abilities to build a brand online.
  • Strategic thinking. A skilled project manager who can envision and execute to build out a greater strategy for the future.
  • Ability to analyze digital data, and draw relevant conclusions from the data.
  • Sound judgment to determine potential crises and ability to determine need to elevate within the organization.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Marketo highly desired
  • Familiarity with HootSuite, Meltwater, LiftMetrix or other similar publishing/monitoring platforms.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role will take the lead in coordinating content development and promotion for social channels with contracted public relations company and freelancers.


Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting and may require travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
