  • Overview

    The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, the functional management and leadership of all of the “procurement” sales activities of their respective business territory. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development.


    1. Planning:

      The Director of Sales is responsible for providing an annual Sales Plan and providing quarterly updates and bi-weekly schedules.

      The Director of Sales, in coordination with the Vice President, establishes both market and target customer strategies for the Company including but not limited to A-B-C prioritization.

               The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and managing the duty-roster of their respective Inside representative

           2. Execution

               This position is responsible for the successful management of the needs of their specific territory’s customers and prospects in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.

               The Director of Sales manages all of the field sales calls and scheduling functions. The position specifically is responsible for field sales, works in tandem with telemarketing efforts, and all customer support functions of the business.


               The Director of Sales is responsible for their respective territory’s sales revenues and profitability

               The Director of Sales defines and manages the monthly and annual sales objectives.

               The Director of Sales is expected to spend a significant portion of time in the field both with new and existing accounts as well as co-traveling with other sales personnel.

               The Director of Sales is expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.


               The Director of Sales is responsible for developing market strategies including customer and prospect awareness initiatives, town hall meetings, maintenance associations etc.

    Director of Sales Profile


    Has been a salesman in the trucking industry and preferably the field of operations.
    Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives.
    Is highly organized and has very effective time management skills.
    Is a demonstrated leader among employees.
    Is highly computer literate and uses sales database tracking programs

    Fluent in ecommerce

    Strong data rationalization skills
    Strong negotiating skills and capacity.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Equally strong listening skills.


    Minimum 10-15 years industry


    Minimum 5 years, preferably 5 years as a salesman


    O.E. manufacturer program sales preferred


    Territory or region manager qualities


    Highly customer focused.


    Self starter


    Strong leadership qualities both with customers and employees


    Strong business acumen


    Highly efficient


    Ability to adhere to policies, but remain flexible when customer conditions require
